Nomenclatural Notes

Status: nom. inval. Dalzell did not accept the species name. On p. 89, under the genus name Caesalpinia, Dalzell published ‘C. ? spicata’ and provided a description. And on p. 90, Dalzell remarked that the species is different from Caesalpinia, gave the distinguishing characters for a new genus, and mentioned that ‘it may be called Wagatea, and thus defined.’ But he did not combine the epithet spicata with Wagatea.
