Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. Dalzell and Gibson provided a single description for 2 names: Crossandra coccinea and C. flava [Protologue:C Coccinea, C Flava, Nees in Wall. PI. As. rar. 3, 98.— Herbaceous, with whorled, entire leaves, and a quadrangular flower; spike of red or yellowish flowers”]. However, Nees (in Wallich PI. Asiat. Rar. 3(12): 98. 1832) did not include C. coccinea or C. flava. Dalzell and Gibson’s description does not match verbatim with any description of Nees]
