Status: nom. inval. Provisional name [Protologue: ‘V. crispa; foliis carnosis superioribus pinnatifido-laciniatis ... pappo plumoso basi membrana unite. — Ruiz et Pav. Fl. Per. v. 1. p. 41?'; 'Hab. Conception. — We have no means of ascertaining if this be the species of the Flora Peruviana, no figure being there given of it. Schlechtendal and Chamisso, in the Linnaea, say that their specimens were collected in fruit, but they have omitted to give a description. If ours prove distinct, it may bear the name of V. pterocarpa']
