Gardner states that the synonyms included are the names used by Bentham in Fl. Austral. Bentham, Fl. Austral. 1 (1863) 258 includes Ditomostrophe angustifolia Turcz. as a synonym of Guichenotia semihastata Benth. thus Gardner's combination is valid by indirect reference to the basionym.
