(2000) is a later homonym of Erica niveniana Loudon (1830), but the 1830 name is an orthographic variant of, and should be treated as, Erica nivenia Andrews. Therefore, E.G.H.Oliv.'s name is not illegitimate,making E. bombycina E.C.Nelson & Pirie superfluous.
