Hooker] 3: 1. 1859, also seemed to mention a subfamily Blechnoideae however as he wrote 'a section or suborder (Blechnaceae)' we do not consider this to be a name as there is no indication that the author accepts it and two different ranks are given, one of which (suborder correctable to subfamily) seems to be misplaced under a genus.
