Remarks
For the basionym of their new combination, Essi & al. gave a full and direct reference to “Poidium brasiliense Nees ex Steud, Syn. Pl Glum. 1(3): 288. 1854”; however, the preceding name is an orth. var. of P. brasilense Nees (1836). Since Steudel’s 1854 publication provided no explicit reference to Nees’s 1836 publication, Essi & al.’s error of basionym citation does not affect the validity of their new combination (see Shenzhen Code Art. 41.8 Ex. 24) doi:10.3417/2010026
