Remarks
Eponymy: in honor of Julio Betancur B. (1960-), Director of the Instituto de Ciencias Naturales, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, who is specialized in Bromeliaceae and Heliconiaceae from Colombia and has collected numerous plant specimens housed mainly in the Herbario Nacional Colombiano, COL. He has always been helpful in giving access to study the material deposited at COL and promoted team work between specialists and local students and botanists in general.
