Remarks
Kelley cited the basionym asKrynitzkia multicaulis var. setosa M. E. Jones, Contr. W. Bot. 13: 4. 1910 (invalid) and the type as “Utah, near Fort Cove, 27 Jun 1901, M. E. Jones s.n. (holotype: RSA)”. Hemisphaerocarya suffruticosa var. setosa Brand (1927) was inadvertently published as a var.nov. for K. multicaulis var. setosa and was also typified by the same type element. Since Kelley cited a holotype and his reference to Jones provides a description, his O. suffruticosa var. setosa would otherwise be the validly published name of a new taxon. Therefore, O. suffruticosa var. setosa is treated as a new combination based on H. suffruticosa var. setosa (see Vienna Code Art. 33.7(d)). doi:10.1600/036364412X648706
