Dunal, the publishing author, referred to: Unona ovata. Vahl. in herb. Juss. DC. Syst. univ. ined. Candolle (Syst. Nat. 1: 489. 1-15 Nov 1817), however, had cited Uvaria ovata. Vahl! ined. as a synonym of his Unona ovata. Dunal's reference is corrected to: Uvaria ovata. Vahl. in herb. Juss.; Unona ovata DC. Syst. univ. ined. Dunal also ascribed the description of Unona ovata to Candolle. Since Dunal ascribed the name Unona ovata and its description to Candolle, the latter is the author.
