Brouillet cited Hosackia sericea Benth. (1837) as a synonym and could have made A. sericeus (Benth.) Brouillet. Therefore, A. procumbens (S. Watson) Brouillet, based on Hosackia procumbens Greene (1885), was nomenclaturally superfluous (but not illegitimate) when published (cf. Vienna Code Art. 52.3 Ex. 14).
