Remarks

Wijnands's (in Taxon 22: 109-114. 1973) proposal to treat var. guineensis as the typical variety (= autonym) of A. hyacinthoides was accepted (see Taxon 23: 823. 1973). Consequently, Sansevieria hyacinthoides (L.) Druce is listed as the type of Sansevieria Thunb. (see Vienna Code p. 280).
