Remarks
Although Roxburgh did not provide a validating description, his reference to Marsd. Sumat. p. 156 (125). validates the name. Marsden (Hist. Sumatra, ed. 3. 156. 1811) described this species as Laurus cassia (kulit manis). C. B. Robinson (Philp. J. Sci. 7: 414. 1912) also treated L. porrecta as valid. Roxburgh (Fl. Ind. 2: 308-309. 1832) provided a detailed description.
