Regarding the spelling of the epithet, named for Alexander Cruckshanks: a proposal was made in 2015 to conserve the original spelling of this epithet against the corrected spelling (Taxon 66: 850-851. 2015). However, this was considered unnecessary by the General Committee, with the comment that the spelling is correctable to 'cruckshanksii'.
