Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. For his intended new combination “Indopoa paupercula,” Bor cited the basionym reference as: “Tripogon pauperculus Stapf in Hook. f., Fl. Brit. Ind. 7, 285 (1896)” (sic). However, the preceding publication was issued in Dec 1896 and has a reference to: “T. pauperculus Stapf in Hook. Ic. Pl. t. 2442. (Jan 1896)”. Since Hooker (Dec 1896) made an explicit reference to Stapf’s Jan 1896 publication, the new combination “Indopoa paupercula” was not validly published (see ICN Art. 41.8 Ex. 20)
Remarks
Bor (Grasses Burma, Ceylon, India & Pakistan; 1960) listed both Tripogon pauperculus Stapf and Indopoa paupercula as accepted names (vide pp. 522, 523 & index (pp. 747 & 765)) and thus did not validate the new combination I. paupercula (see ICN Art. 36.2)
