Remarks
The gender of the genus name Tetractomia is feminine. According to T. G. Hartley (in J. Arnold Arbor. 60: 130. 1979), it appears that Hooker first intended to name the genus as Hymenosperma and the species name as H. majus but decided in favor of Tetractomia, and that he (or someone else) failed to make all the necessary changes in the manuscript of his Flora of British India
