Remarks
Although Hutchinson cited R. formosum var. johnstonianum Brandis (1906) as a synonym (an untypified name), he typified his taxon and flagged it as a sp. nov, and thus R. johnstoneanum was published as a sp. nov. Eponymy: Mrs. Johnstone, the wife of Colonel Johnstone, Political Agent in Manipur in 1882.
