Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. cons. vs. Turcz. (1848). Pedraza-Peñalosa & Luteyn (in Taxon 62: 408-409. 2013) made the proposal to conserve the name Siphonandra Klotzsch. The Special Committee (SC) for vascular plants, after two rounds of votes, did not have a consensus on the proposal, and thus the SC neither recommended nor rejected the proposal. The General Committee (GC), however, approved the conservation of Siphonandra Klotzsch (see Taxon 65: 1150. 2016), and the GC’s decision was approved by the International Botanical Congress held in Shenzhen, China, in July 2017
