Status: nom. et orth. cons. J. McNeill, Chairman of the Editorial Committee for the Vienna Code (2006), has indicated that the listing in App. III (p. 398; as Spathelia L., Sp. Pl., ed. 2: 386. Sep 1762 [Rut.]. Typus: S. simplex L.) would be revised.
Remarks
as spathalea. Although L. did not provide a description, his indirect reference to Spathe P. Browne 1756 (nom. rej.) validates Spathelia.
