Remarks
Amianthium nuttallii A. Gray (1837) is a superfluous illegitimate name for Helonias paniculata Nutt. (1834). Watson (1871) and Rydberg (1903) based Zigadenus nuttalli and Toxicoscordion nuttallii on A. nuttallii, but excluded H. paniculata from their intended respective new combinations. Therefore, Z. nuttallii was inadvertently published as the name of a new species and T. nuttallii as the name of a new combination indirectly based on Z. nuttallii
