Graham treated 4 Clitoria species of which 3 species (C. brasiliana, C. ternata & C. vaupellii) are shrubs or undershrubs. For his C. annua Graham provided a diagnosis (Herbaceous, annual ...) and thus distinguished it from the other 3 Clitoria species.
