Remarks
There is an earlier name published by A.Hosius et W. von der Marck in Palaeontographica 26: 137. 1880. Although this fossil was later (1881) suggested to be in the animal kingdom, at the time of publication it might have still been considered by some to be botanical. Since a name, if it is born illegitmate, can never become legitimate, we therefore keep this name as a homonym, but see Bertling in Phytotaxa 425(1): 63-66. 2019.
