Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. superfl. Sonder cited Phylica globosa Thunb. (1803) as the basionym and included P. trichotoma Thunb. (1794) as a synonym. Thus the new combination S. globosa is nomenclaturally superfluous when published, but not illegitimate (see Melbourne Code Art. 52.3 Ex. 15).
