Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. Peng intended to publish “Ludwigia glandulosa subsp. brachycarpa” as a comb. & stat. nov. and base it on L. cylindrica var. brachycarpa Torrey & A.Gray; the preceding name itself is a comb. & stat. nov. and was based on Jussiaea brachycarpa Lam. Peng, however, excluded J. brachycarpa from his subsp. brachycarpa. Thus, he inadvertently published “L. glandulosa subsp. brachycarpa” as a subsp. nov. Although Peng cited a type, he did not provide or refer to a Latin description. Therefore, “L. glandulosa subsp. brachycarpa” was not validly published.
