R.Bakker & C.G.G.J. van Steenis, Fl. Males. ser I, 5 (1957) 361-362 do not accept Loudon's description of the genus in Hort. Brit. (1832) 585 as being adequate and thus this species would date from the above. See discussion by Bakker & van Steenis, loc. cit.
