Published without a type citation, then validated in Novosti Sist. Vyssh. Rast. 5: 9 (1968) by specifying the type, A. religiosa. However, one of the three species Matsenko included in ser. Religiosae was A. religiosa, from which the series name was clearly derived, thus making A. religiosa the type under Art. 10.8, ICN (2018).
