Alstroemeria distichifolia Ruiz & Pav.: Herbert corrected the epithet distichifolia (a combination of Greek and Latin terms) to distichophylla(of Greek terms); his correction is unwarranted and resulted in the superfluity of S. distichophylla Herb.
