Meisner used “B. integrifolia (R. Brown l.c. p. 206 et 393)” (sic); However, Brown (Trans. Linn. Soc. London 10(1): 206. Feb 1810; Prodr. 393. Apr 1810) did not publish the preceding name; he used B. integrifolia L.f. (1782). Under “B. integrifolia R. Brown,” Meisner recognized 3 varieties: var. dentata, var. major, and var. minor. For var. minor, he cited B. integrifolia L.f. as a synonym; he thus included the type of B. integrifolia L.f. in “B. integrifolia R. Brown” and inadvertently created an isonym
