Remarks

Maximowicz cited Negundo? nikoense Miq.” as a synonym for A. nikoense and published the latter name as a new combination. Miquel (Dec 1867) published A. maximowiczianum as a sp. nov. for “A. nikoense sensu Maxim.” (excluding its type bringing basionym). In contrast, Delendick (Brittonia 32: 288. 1980) treated “A. nikoense, Maxim.” as a new species name and excluded the basionym N. nikoense. His treatment is in contrary to Melbourne Code Art. 48 and its Note 1 and Art. 7.3, and he thus inadvertently created A. nikoense as a superfluous later homonym (non A. nikoense (Miq.) Maxim. 1867)
