Remarks
Although Butcher mentioned Vriesea barclayana var. minor Gilmartin within his article, he cited Tillandsia lateritia André, Enum. Bromel. 6. 13. Dec 1888 as the basionym. Since T. lateritia is the replaced synonym of V. barclayana var. minor, the 3 names are typified by the same type, and Vienna Code Art. 33.7(c) is applicable. Therefore, T. barclayana var. minor was validly published.
