Kuntze considered Celosia paniculata L. (Sp. Pl. ed. 2, 298.¹1762) as different from C. paniculata L. (Sp. Pl. 206.¹1753). Based on C. paniculata L. 1762, Kuntze made the new¹combination Kokera paniculata, which is construed as a new¹taxon.
