Remarks
Protologue: dedicated to Pan, the god of the shepherds, of the pastures and the woods, because all its species are valuable fodder grasses). Poa was the Theophrastan and Greek name for any kind of grass, like the latin gramen, or for any herbaceous plant).' The name ought to be disregarded for the same reason as the words planta or herba are unfit as generic names!
