Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. inval. Rafinesque, who coined the genus name “Tetrodea” in 1804 (in a letter to Muhlenberg) for 3 species (Glycine monoica, G. comosa & G. subterranea), abandoned the genus name “Tetrodea” in 1836 and accepted Amphicarpaea Elliott ex Nutt.
