Remarks
Tucker (Rhodora 86: 525. 1984) lectotypified K. vaginata Lam. (1791) with Dombey's collection from Peru. Since K. peruviana Lam. (1792) was based on Dombey's collection from Peru, Tucker treated K. peruviana as a superfluous illegitimate name. At the time of publication, however, K. peruviana did not include the type of K. vaginata; therefore, K. peruviana was legitimate when published (see Shenzhen Code Art. 52.2 Note 2)
