Remarks
Parry did not ascribe the species name to any author; he mentioned: “I proposed the name of Gilia Orcuttii. Submitted to Prof. Asa Gray, he has kindly furnished for publication the following diagnosis, viz.: ‘Gilia (Leptosiplion ) Orcuttii. A span high …’”. Since Parry coined the species name and used Gray’s description, Parry is accepted here as the author.
