Fernald & Schubert proposed Breweria michauxii as a nom. nov. for Convolvulus trichosanthes Michx. 1803 (illegitimate), but included Breweria trichosanthes Small 1903 as a synonym; the preceding species renders superfluity and illegitimacy to B. michauxii.
