Remarks
Voigt (1845) published L. ? alternans, Wall. (invalid); Kurz (1873), either deliberately or as an oversight altered the preceding epithet and validly published Limonia alternifolia Wall. ap. Voigt; Hooker chose to correct the 1875 epithet alternifolia to alternans, cited L. alternans, Wall, in Voigt Hart Calc. 139 (1845) as an accepted name and referred to Kurz in Joum. As. Soc. Beng. 1873, ii. 64 (L. alternifolia) (sic). Kurz (Forest Fl. Burma 192. 1877) chose to use L. alternans, Wall; H.f. Ind. Fl. i. 508. as an accepted name (& rejected his own 1873 name). Swingle referred to the preceding publications, chose to accept Hooker's correction, and cited (Kurz) as the parenthetical author for the name M. alternans.
