Remarks
Pallas (Reise Russ. Reich. 3(1): 266. 1776) published ‘Trifolium cytisoides’ (nom. nud.); but Nakai cited (l.c.) the preceding name as ‘Trifolium cystoides’ and used the epithet ‘cystoides’ in his intended new combination as ‘Lespedeza cystoides’ (correctable to L. cytisoides). Nakai cited T. hedysaroides Pall. (excluding its superfluity causing synonym Hedysarum junceum L.f., 1762) as a synonym; he also cited H. junceum sensu Willdenow (Sp. Pl. 3(2): 1194. 1802, non L.f.), and L. juncea Pers. (excluding its basionym H. junceum) as doubtful synonyms; thus, Nakai inadvertently published L. cytisoides as the illegitimate name of a new species
