Remarks

Etymology: the specific epithet is named for Alex Monro, a senior Botanist at Kew Gardens, and a researcher at the Natural History Museum in London. A specialist on Urticaceae, he devoted a lot of time collecting in Central America, especially in NE Panama near the Costa Rican border where the type specimen originated.
