doi:10.11646/phytotaxa.566.3.4 Etymology: 'The epithet honors botanist Luciano Gomes Pataro de Almeida Aguiar (b. 1986–). Luciano described new species of Microlicia (Pataro et al. 2013), authored a treatment of Microlicia for Mucugê, Bahia (Pataro et al. 2017) and collected the first known specimen of M. pataroi (Pataro 129 & H.A. Ogasawara, ALCB)'.
