Remarks
Etymology: 'In reference to the Bosque de Protección Alto Mayo, where the species has been found, and capitulum, head, in reference to the inflorescence which is somewhat spherical. The term was used by Charles Schweinfurt to describe the first species of this group, Epidendrum capitellatum'.
