Remarks
The genus is illegitimate on account of it being a later homonym of earlier Candollea genus names, it is also illegitimate because it includes C. mollis, the type of the genus Pseudopodospermum. Etymology: The generic name honours the Swiss botanist Augustin Pyramus de Candolle (1778-1841).
