Remarks
Reference to the replaced synonym indirect (via the type collection C. Wright 3253). Prain listed the following two names in Roman: “Dioscorea lanceolata Wright ex Griseb. Cat. Pl. Cub. 251 (1866): Rajania lanceolata”(sic). Grisebach treated D. lanceolata as a pro synonym of R. cubensis Kunth. It is construed here that Prain accepted the D. lanceolata and treated R. lanceolata as a pro synonym (see Greuter’s analysis in Candollea 40: 212, last paragraph. 1985).
