Status: nom. illeg. nom. superfl. Kårehed & B. Bremer intended to publish “D. decora var. pubescens as a new combination based on “Pentas verticillata var. pubescens” S. Moore in J. Bot. 48: 220. 1910 (invalid); they cited P. decora var. triangularis (De Wild.) Verdc. (in Bull. Jard. Bot. État Bruxelles 23: 291. 1953), among others, as a synonym.
