Remarks
Eaton ascribed the name to Torrey and E. James and reproduced Torrey's description verbatim (Torrey, Ann. Lyceum Nat. Hist. New York 2: 205. 1827: no. 171 (of E. James collection) S(edum)., n.sp. Nutt. Leaves roundish, flat, entire, scattered; cymes terminal, trichotomous).
