Remarks

Epithet ispaghul is used as a noun in apposition (derived from Hindi/Persian names: ispughool, ispagool). Fleming, the publishing author, ascribed the name and its validating diagnosis/description to Roxburgh. In Roxburgh's later (posthumous) publications (Fl. Ind. 1: 421. 1820; ed. 2., 1: 404. 1832), the epithet was Latinized to ispaghula.
