Eponymy: The species is named in honor of famous traditional Ayurvedic practitioner of Parbhani district, Vd. Shankarrao Govindrao Dhabe who has been using almost all Terminalia species in his medicines and because of his association and guidance, author was attracted towards the genus Terminalia.
