Remarks
Porter & Coulter used Dalea nana, Torr., var. elatior Torr. Pl. Wright, 1, p. 46. (sic), provided a description, and cited Dr. Bell's collection. They erred in ascribing the varietal name to Torrey. Pl. Wright, vol. 1 is authored by A. Gray, and on p. 46, Gray listed D. nana, var., used elatior as a descriptive term (not as an epithet), and cited the locality as Pass of the Limpia Texas).
