Remarks

Bentham's original spelling, 'Leptobaea' is treated as an orthographic error correctable under Art. 60.1 (ICN 2012). Bentham had three genera in his treatment of Gesneriaceae in Genera Plantarum that incorporated the element boea -- each as baea (with a diphthong æ): Phyllobæa Benth., Bæa [sic] Comm. and Leptobæa Benth. However, Boea (Bentham's Bæa) was published by Lamarck as Bœa, i.e. Boea Comm. ex Lam., Encycl. 1: 401. 1785 Bentham continued his mis-spelling with his own generic names Phylloboea and Leptoboea (using 'bæa' in each case). Each was evidently intended as a modification of Boea -- and as Bentham spelled that name in a different manner from the original spelling, so he also mis-spelled the derived name.
