Status: nom. inval. Protologue: Spathium Ldl. ist Epidendrum L. Stein's citation of Spathium Ldl. is an indirect reference to Epidendrum subgen. Spathium Lindl. (1840). Since Stein did not accept Spathium Lindl. and treated it as a synonym of Epidendrum L., Spathium was not validly published (see Vienna Code Art. 34.1(a)).
